Family Medicine

Biography

Phyllis Ingham earned her Bachelor of Nursing from Lamor University in Beaumont Texas. She went on to McNeese State University in Lake Charles Louisiana to graduate with her Masters of Science in Nursing. She came to work at Woodlawn in 2019.

“A number of Hoosiers ask me why Indiana and Rochester. I am from a small town, and I love people from small towns. I was impressed that the governing board and administration have committed to providing quality healthcare at an affordable price to every member of the community. I also appreciate how the hospital goes above and beyond to support its staff,” she said.

When asked why she chose family medicine, she responded, “I love caring for patients from the complete continuum of life-newborns to geriatrics patients. I enjoy becoming a part of their lives for a short while. It is rewarding when I can be a positive influence for them.”

Phyllis has been known to go out to a car to check on an elderly patient or sit on the floor to calm down a child. Her soft southern Texas draw entertains her patients and makes them feel comfortable. When she is not caring for patients, she enjoys decorating the office with the changing seasons and holidays. Phyllis also loves reading and yoga along with yardwork.
